caption I switched from iPhone to Android, and I’m not looking back. source Clancy Morgan I’ve been a diehard Apple user for as long as I can remember, and I’ve exclusively used iPhones since shortly after the first one came out in 2007. When it came time to retire my iPhone 6S this year, I was frustrated by the high price of Apple’s two newest iPhones, the XS and XR. After reading about the well-reviewed OnePlus 6T, I decided to give it – and Google’s Android operating system – a try. After three weeks with the OnePlus, I’m in love with its high-end feel at an affordable price, and with Android’s customizability and intuitiveness. It feels fresh in a way that Apple hasn’t in years – for me at least. I’m what you might call a Day One Apple user. I’ve used Apple products and Mac computers for as long as I can remember, from the Power Macintosh my parents had in the family room, to my … [Read more...] about I switched to Android after more than a decade with the iPhone, and I’m not going back. Video By Malcolm Owen Tuesday, October 16, 2018, 08:15 am PT (11:15 am ET) When upgrading to Apple's new iPhone XS, you have to choose between the 5.8-inch XS or the 6.5-inch XS Max. After spending a month with both phones, there's a few real-world differences between the two models that may be worth knowing about before reaching a decision. Bigger is better First of all, the massive 6.5-inch display of the iPhone XS Max is so immersive and mesmerizing. It's perfect for everything from watching YouTube videos to movies on Netflix, or playing games like Fortnite. It finally competes with other manufacturers displays like Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 in terms of screen size, with the XS Max's display actually one inch larger on the diagonal. The Note 9 also has pretty large bezels on the top and bottom of the phone that are very noticeable. Of course, the XS Max has the notch, but it's actually less noticeable than on the XS. The notch is still the exact same size on both phones, but it … [Read more...] about One month later: iPhone XS versus the iPhone XS Max
Review By Neil Hughes Tuesday, September 25, 2018, 08:59 am PT (11:59 am ET) Apple's new iPhone XS is a modest step up from last year's iPhone X, but remains a major technological leap forward for anyone who hasn't yet made the jump to the edge-to-edge design with Face ID. As with the debut of the iPhone X, if you can stomach the sticker shock, the iPhone XS is a premium, polished, near-perfect handset that showcases Apple's marriage of hardware and software at its most sublime. The iPhone XS comes in three colors: space gray, silver and a new shade of gold. It's available in capacities of 64, 256 and 512 gigabytes. Notably, aside from the difference in screen size, there is no upgrade when jumping from the iPhone XS to the iPhone XS Max — unlike the "Plus" models released in the past, the smaller variant of the flagship iPhone has the exact same camera system as its larger counterpart. For our review, we tested the iPhone XS in space gray with 256 gigabytes of capacity. … [Read more...] about iPhone XS review: There’s nothing excessive about Apple’s latest and greatest smartphone

March 5, 2018 - Written By Justin Diaz Fairly stylish with surprisingly good performance for a low priceOLA may not be a phone brand you’re familiar with and that’s ok, because to be quite honest before receiving this phone to review, we weren’t either. OLA is a Chinese phone brand, one of many, many brands that seem to be attacking the budget phone market in China and other parts of Asia. Like those other brands OLA’s iLA-X has a few things in common. One is the price as this won’t end up costing you an arm and a leg. It’s also fairly stylish and it has surprisingly good performance for the low price that OLA is asking, which seems to be more and more common these days. How does it stack up though? We’ve been spending some time with this phone over the past week or so to check things out and see how good of a device you’re getting for the price you pay. So let’s take a closer look at the iLA-X and see what it has to offer … [Read more...] about OLA iLA-X Review: A Decent Budget iPhone X Clone
