10 miti (falsi) sulla sicurezza informatica

February 2, 2023 by global.techradar.com Leave a Comment

[Read more...] about 10 miti (falsi) sulla sicurezza informatica

Google may introduce Apple’s Continuity Camera rival with Android 14

February 3, 2023 by www.gadgetsnow.com Leave a Comment

Google is said to introduce another Apple -like feature. Apple introduced the interesting Continuity camera feature last year. The feature can turn the iPhone into a webcam for the Mac. Now it appears that tech giant Google is also working on a similar kind of feature. According to Android expert Mishaal Rahman, Google is planning to enable native support for using Android phones as webcams for PCs and Chromebooks. The company is working on rolling out the feature with Android 14 . "Using an Android phone as a webcam became really popular during the pandemic, but you've typically had to install a third-party app to do so. You may not have to do this in the future, though, as Google is adding support for turning Android devices into USB webcams!", tweeted Rahman. Rahmaan further revealed that he spotted the information in the Android Open Source Project repository. He noticed a service called 'DeviceAsWebcam'. This yet-to-launch feature is rumoured to … [Read more...] about Google may introduce Apple’s Continuity Camera rival with Android 14

Insiders say Sony slashed PlayStation VR2 production; Sony says, “No we didn’t”

January 31, 2023 by www.techspot.com Leave a Comment

Rumor mill: Word on the street is that Sony's PS VR2 pre-orders were disappointing. As such, insiders say the company is allegedly cutting back production. The two million units it expected to sell in the first quarter of 2023 are now projected to take until March 2024 to move. However, Sony says these reports are false, and everything is on track. With Sony's PS VR2 only three weeks from release, Bloomberg reports that the company has cut shipments of the next-gen VR headset in half due to low pre-orders. The company previously estimated it would ship at least two million units in its launch quarter. However, anonymous sources say those sales are now projected at one million. Sony expects another 1.5 million units to ship between April this year and March 2024. Bloomberg reached out to Sony for official comment, but a spokesperson said, "the company does not discuss its product inventory." However, shortly after publishing the story, Sony told GamesIndustry.biz that it had not … [Read more...] about Insiders say Sony slashed PlayStation VR2 production; Sony says, “No we didn’t”

Netflix brings its impressive Spatial Audio sound to even more shows

February 2, 2023 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

Audio player loading… It was big news when, in July 2022, Netflix teamed up with audio behemoth Sennheiser to bring Spatial Audio support to a handful of the former’s original movies and TV shows for customers on its premium plan, without the need for specialist headphones that support it. At the time of announcement, that support was limited to tentpole projects like Stranger Things , The Adam Project and The Witcher – but now, Netflix has announced plans to expand spatial audio compatibility to over 700 existing and upcoming titles. In essence, this kind of Spatial Audio converts regular stereo output into expansive, three-dimensional sound that aims to mimic the experience of watching movies in a theater. Headphones that work with Dolby Atmos , such as Apple AirPods Pro 2 , could already do Spatial Audio from Netflix – but this new system improves the quality of sound emitted from any of the best headphones , as well as from laptop or standard TV … [Read more...] about Netflix brings its impressive Spatial Audio sound to even more shows

PS5 update means the console is catching up with Xbox Series X framerates

February 2, 2023 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

Audio player loading… Sony has released a new beta update for the PS5 that finally brings Variable Refresh Rate to 1440p resolution on the console, and you can even apply it to ‘unsupported games’. While some of the best PS5 games can achieve 120 fps at 4K resolutions, they’re in the minority. After this update, many more will be able to hit that framerate while playing at 1440p. VRR, which dynamically scales the rendering resolution to prioritize framerate in the target resolution, was previously only available in 4K on the console. The official PlayStation blog post (opens in new tab) goes into the specifics of what the new PS5 beta firmware is able to do. As well as bringing VRR to 1440p screens, the beta activates Auto Low Latency Mode, which was previously only available in 4K. Modern screens often have in-built image processing capabilities that work to make movies and TV shows look as good as possible on your screen. However, those processes can … [Read more...] about PS5 update means the console is catching up with Xbox Series X framerates

It looks like Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony will skip E3 2023

January 31, 2023 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

Audio player loading… 2023 may mark the first year ever where E3 has been without an appearance from Xbox, Sony, or Nintendo. This marks a significant moment in a gradual shift in the games industry that’s been years in the making. The E3 convention in June is often where we hear about all the upcoming games for Xbox Series X |S, Nintendo Switch , and PS5 . Whether updates on games already announced or big reveals of new titles, the show has traditionally been a fixture in the games industry’s calendar. However, IGN (opens in new tab) says it “has heard from multiple knowledgeable sources that Xbox, Sony, and Nintendo won’t be part of E3 2023 or have a presence on the Los Angeles Convention Center show floor.” We may still hear from the big three platform holders in showcases around the event, but according to the report, they won’t attend the show to make their games playable for the press or consumers. In January, Microsoft confirmed plans … [Read more...] about It looks like Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony will skip E3 2023

Dual Monitors: Use a Different Wallpaper on Each Desktop

September 7, 2007 by www.howtogeek.com Leave a Comment

Note: I’ve written an updated article for both Vista and XP Multi-monitor displays are becoming more and more common. Let’s face it, computers are so powerful these days that we can run more applications at a time than we have monitor space for… so if you haven’t tried it, it’s time to upgrade to a dual-monitor display. The immediate issue that you will notice is that the wallpaper displays the same image on both screens. This is especially annoying when you have a laptop and a second monitor, each running at different resolutions, because the second screen will have a “squashed” version of the picture. Enter Desktop Items…. you can create a web item and put a picture on it to cover the second monitor. Here’s how to do it. First, you’ll want to go to Display Properties, click Customize Desktop, and then the Web tab, like so: Now you will want to click the New button, and you’ll be presented with a dialog prompting you to select either a webpage or wallpaper. … [Read more...] about Dual Monitors: Use a Different Wallpaper on Each Desktop
