Sony already unveiled its new Xperia lineup of devices at IFA 2014, comprising the Xperia Z3 flagship, the Xperia Z3 Compact munchkin, the 8” Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, but alongside them the budget-friendly Xperia E3 also made a debut. We had the fortunate chance to spend some time with it and see how it feels like at our fingertips. It's hands-on time!DesignDesign-wise, you can see which Sony device has inspired the design of the E3 right off the bat - of course, we are talking about the new Xperia Z3. That said, the Xperia E3 comes with typical Sony design, with the rounded-edge style of the current Xperia flagship, but unlike it, we can't say that the E3 is a beautiful device. Then again, being nothing else but an affordable mid-ranger, the Xperia E3 comes sans the premium build materials of the top-end Xperia Z3 and relies on regular, matte plastic, which definitely feels cheap. From the looks of it, one might judge that the Xperia E3 comes with front-facing stereo … [Read more...] about Sony Xperia E3 hands-on
Acer’s smartphone presence during MWC 2014 isn’t as intensive in comparison to what we saw over CES 2014 early last month. Considering that it’s more focused on mobile, it’s not too surprising that we only saw two new models – the Acer Liquid E3 and Liquid Z4. Holding it isn’t a problem at all considering its form-fitting nature and comfortable feel. All the usual items are found littered around … [Read more...] about Acer Liquid E3 hands-on: front facing LED flash for those selfies

If the price tag of a flagship like the all-new Xperia Z3 is off-putting, then the just-announced, budget-friendly Xperia E3 will be more to your liking.Like its predecessor, the Xperia E1, is mostly reminiscent of the company's newest flagship in terms of design (the Z3 in this case). Obviously, it'll forego the premium materials used with the former's body, but it'll be styled around it, and have the same rounded frame that seems to be part of Sony's next step in its design evolution. Thankfully, the LTE-enabled (Cat 4 speeds), quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor that will be pushing … [Read more...] about Sony introduces the budget-friendly Xperia E3 with LTE
