These images back up previous reports that Apple's flagship iPhones will sport a triple-camera setup on the rear of the device. Based on the above renders, the iPhone (2019) could retain a similar front body as the current iPhone but will have a smaller notch and slightly thinner bezels (unnoticeable to naked eyes). The big difference could be on the back where you can see horizontally stacked triple … [Read more...] about iPhone 11 (2019) rumors: Release date, specs, price, and features!

1. Google's Night Sight Computational photography is the future, at least for now. Since it's not convenient to strap big hunks of glass to our phones, we're not using artificially intelligent bits to accomplish far more than the lens and sensor atoms are actually capable of. We've already got Portrait Mode for depth effect, Portrait Lighting for studio effects, and even Portrait Backgrounds in the Clips app for that green screen effect. But what Google's done with Night Sight adds a whole new level to the, capturing more light for longer than is usually possible, and using machine learning to do everything from removing motion blur to achieving as natural a white balance as possible. And it can literally turn night into day. Now, with Night Sight, as with its single camera portrait mode, Google is willing to apply these processes as after effects. Apple, currently, is not. Everything on the iPhone camera has to also work in preview and in real time. Even the new lens models and depth … [Read more...] about Nine features Apple should steal for iPhone in 2019
Review By Malcolm Owen Friday, November 09, 2018, 07:15 am PT (10:15 am ET) The cheapest option in Apple's 2018 iPhone collection, the iPhone XR isn't expected to live up to the standards set by the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max. While it does have some different components in order to bring the overall cost of the device down, the iPhone XR certainly isn't any less of an iPhone than the other two models. For the iPhone 7S and earlier releases, Apple offered the current-generation model alongside the previous version, giving two tiers of device for consumers to choose from. For the iPhone X, Apple provided the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus as an alternative to the new design, one that used the design language that the world understood. The iPhone XR is odd, as while Apple has offered two distinct tiers of device as usual, the alternative to the premium iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max … [Read more...] about Review: The iPhone XR isn’t a $1,000 flagship, but isn’t any less of a premium experience
When Apple packs its most expensive iPhone with all the latest innovations, it’s hard for anyone to get excited about the next step down the line. So after September’s debut of the $999 iPhone XS and $1,099 iPhone XS Max, no one was shocked that the more affordable iPhone XR’s late October launch didn’t feature throngs of queued-up customers or local news crews — it’s technically not Apple’s 2018 flagship product. Despite the lack of lines, it’s safe to say that millions of people are considering iPhone XR purchases. Apple has blurred the definition of “flagship” this year in a new way, creating a two-phone “premium flagship” tier with the XS models, and a more traditional flagship in the $749 iPhone XR. Having previously made the mistake of wrapping last year’s components in a shiny new package, Apple instead made the iPhone XR so close to the iPhone XS and XS Max that it could almost fit between … [Read more...] about The 5-point iPhone XR review: How Apple walks the fine line of greatness
source Getty The first wave of reviews of Apple’s iPhone XR published on Tuesday, and they’re pretty positive. It seems like Apple’s more colorful new phone has some charm, especially when it comes to battery life. The reviewers also liked the device’s colors, speed, and camera. But for most reviewers, the phone’s banner feature is its price – starting at $749, it’s $250 less expensive than Apple’s other new phone, the iPhone XS. Check out a few snippets of iPhone XR reviews from Wall Street Journal, TechRadar, Tom’s Guide, iMore, Gizmodo, Daring Fireball, USA Today, Wired, CNET, Buzzfeed, TechCrunch, and the New York Times: Camera source Kif Leswing Wall Street Journal: “The XR has the same great wide-angle camera as the XS phones, but lacks the second telephoto lens for true optical zoom. Only once this week was I bothered by that: when I spotted the evil squirrel who has been eating … [Read more...] about iPhone XR reviews are starting to come in, and Apple’s newest phone apparently has amazing battery life
