The Android M Developer Preview 2 is now available to be downloaded on the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and the Nexus Player. According to Google, "The update includes a variety of enhancements and bug fixes made across the system, including those related to issues reported by developers through the external issue tracker." Many of the changes involve permissions related to fingerprints, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The Android M Developer Preview 2 also features an updated SDK platform with system images for building and testing apps.The list of Known Issues includes the crashing of the Messenger app on the 64-bit emulator, the inability to share a video when using YouTube, and certain problems that are found with the Android For Work Profile Setup.One more Preview is expected before the final release of Android M is ready to ship this fall. Google has started rolling out the Android N Developer Preview today. We weren't expecting Google to make this available until May during Google I/O. And to make it easier on developers, Google is sending the Android N Developer Preview to them via an OTA update. By pushing the preview out earlier than usual, it will give Google extra time to listen to feedback and make changes.With five previews of Android N scheduled before the final version is released in Q3, Google is hoping to hand over Android N to device manufacturers during the summer. Returning to the preview seeded to developers today, it is far from a finished product and more new features will be added as Google works on Android N. So, yesterday, Apple kicked off WWDC 2017 with an exciting keynote, revealing a bunch of new stuff, iOS 11 included. Now, the operating system is not ready for prime time yet, as it will launch this Fall with the new iPhones, but a Developer Preview build is available for those who have developer accounts.
