Audio player loading… The Canon EOS R10 is expected to be the surprise co-star of a double launch from the camera giant that's rumored to be taking place in late May. While the other rumored camera from that launch, the Canon EOS R7 , was first mentioned on rumor sites as far back as 2020, the EOS R10 is more of an unknown quantity. According to Canon Rumors , it's expected to be a new entry-level model in the Canon EOS R series. And its rumored specs suggest it could be a solid upgrade for those who own older Canon DSLRs, but don't want to spend megabucks on a full-frame camera like the Canon EOS R6 . Canon EOS R10 rumored specs 24.2MP APS-C sensor Like the Canon EOS R7, the EOS R10 is expected to have an APS-C sensor, which is smaller than a full-frame sensor. This means it would have less light-gathering power than existing EOS R cameras, but could also being potential bonuses like a lower price tag and a crop factor that could be beneficial for … [Read more...] about Canon EOS R10 news, rumors and what we want to see

What’s New in Ubuntu 22.04 LTS ‘Jammy Jellyfish’
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS “Jammy Jellyfish” was released on April 21, 2022. This latest release of the ever-popular Ubuntu Linux distribution will have long-term support until 2027. Is the Jammy Jellyfish worth the upgrade? Let’s find out. Canonical Release Cycles Canonical releases a version of Ubuntu every six months. One release comes in April and the other arrives in October. The first part of the release number is the year, and the “.04” or “.10” part indicates the month. This makes it easy to figure out what the latest release of Ubuntu is or to see how old a particular version is. This six-monthly release cycle isn’t carved in stone. Stability is favored over punctuality. If there is a need for a delay, the release can be pushed back until it is ready. That’s a very rare occurrence. What Canonical prefers to do is to remove the component or module that isn’t release-ready, so that they can ship a release for the expected date. The last time an Ubuntu release was delayed was … [Read more...] about What’s New in Ubuntu 22.04 LTS ‘Jammy Jellyfish’
The Witcher 4: everything we know so far
Audio player loading… After many years of waiting and teasing, CD Projekt RED has finally started talking about The Witcher 4. Or, at least, the next full-blooded Witcher game, since we don't have an official name just yet. In a recent blog post, the developer announced that "the next installment in The Witcher series of video games is currently in development" and the title will kick off "a new saga". It's not surprising that CD Projekt RED is finally talking about a new Witcher game. The developer has previously been open that another entry in its mega-successful fantasy series is on the cards. President of CD Projekt RED, Adam Kiciński, said back in March 2020 that there's a "relatively clear concept" for the next Witcher game and that full production would begin "immediately" after Cyberpunk 2077 releases. Well, Cyberpunk 2077 was released at the end of 2020 but it had a notoriously rocky, buggy start. It's possible that, with the recent overhaul of … [Read more...] about The Witcher 4: everything we know so far

Paul Kalchik on Friday that the archdiocese would be removing him from his pastoral duties after Kalchik burned the rainbow flag adorned with a cross in a closed-door ceremony, the Chicago Sun-Times reported . The Archdiocese of Chicago also released a letter stating that Kalchik would be taking time off “to receive pastoral support.” “It has become clear to me that Fr. Kalchik must take time away from the parish to receive pastoral support so his needs can be assessed,” Cupich wrote in a letter released by the archdiocese. A spokesperson for the archdiocese claimed “this … [Read more...] about Chicago Catholic Priest Who Burned Rainbow Flag Removed from Parish | Breitbart
Computer chip giant ASML places big bets on a tiny future
ASML, a semiconductor industry and stock market giant, has to think smaller or maybe bigger. It is building machines the size of double-decker buses, weighing over 200 tonnes, in its quest to produce beams of focused light that create the microscopic circuitry on computer chips used in everything from phones and laptops to cars and AI. The company has enjoyed a rosy decade, its shares leaping 1,000% to take its value past 200 billion euros as it swept up most of the world's business for these lithography systems. It's now preparing to roll out a new $400 million machine for next-generation chips which it hopes will be its flagship by the late 2020s but for now remains an engineering challenge. Executives at ASML's headquarters in the Dutch town of Veldhoven told Reuters a prototype was on track to be completed in the first half of 2023. They said the company and longtime R&D partner IMEC were setting up a test lab on the spot - a first - so top chipmakers and … [Read more...] about Computer chip giant ASML places big bets on a tiny future
Time travel is just a click away: Google opens up Street View archives
Google's Street View cars buzz up and down the world's roadways rather frequently. Usually, when Google gets new data from its road-going cameras, it takes the old imagery down. There is value in those old Street View images, though, and today, Google announced it will be putting them all online for virtual explorers to dig through. The feature hasn't rolled out to many accounts yet, but it looks like a small, draggable window will be added to the Street View interface. Just move the time slider around and you'll be able to jump through past images. Granted, Street View has only been around for a few years, so the archives only go back to 2007. A few of the events Google suggests browsing through are the building of One World Trade Center and the destruction and rebuilding of Onagawa, Japan after the 2011 earthquake. Besides being really cool, the move will save Google from having to choose a canonical Street View image for every location. If the current image is blacked-out or … [Read more...] about Time travel is just a click away: Google opens up Street View archives
Mr. Boop, the psychosexual webcomic that is a scathing critique of copyright
You can’t summarize the webcomic Mr. Boop better than its first panel, which emerged out of what felt like the raging id of the internet on February 28, 2020. “My wife Betty Boop is really hot,” says Alec, the strip’s spectacled, grinning protagonist, a cartoon avatar for actual writer and artist Alec Robbins. His wife, you see, is Betty Boop. She’s really hot. At first blush, Mr. Boop might not seem all that different from the webcomics that largely defined the genre’s boom a decade or so ago: imperfectly drawn pan els, constant flirtation with copyright violation, and a horny, endlessly self-indulgent hero based directly on the author. But Robbins isn’t just channeling the tropes of a largely bygone era of fanfiction; he’s weaponizing them, delivering a note-perfect satire of a very specific time on the internet with layers that only reveal themselves as the story unfolds. Over 216 comic strips, several videos, and one alarming free-to-play visual novel , Robbins — a … [Read more...] about Mr. Boop, the psychosexual webcomic that is a scathing critique of copyright
No Man’s Sky’s seventh expedition is a roguelike journey chasing a space whale
Editor's take: I don't usually report on No Man's Sky expeditions because they typically don't add any significant new content other than a few cosmetic items. Unlike major updates, expeditions are primarily a set of missions and rewards that force players into the same region of the universe resulting in more multiplayer experiences. However, Hello Games dropped an expedition on Wednesday, somewhat breaking that mold. It offers a twist on gameplay that makes it somewhat Roguelike while also offering a unique reward for your frigate fleet. Expedition Seven: Leviathan plays much differently than in previous expeditions. It still has a lore-filled story to follow and the hunt-and-fetch missions that we're used to but turns the difficulty up to survival mode settings. You will die, and when you do, you have to start over from scratch with a new randomized loadout. Warning: Minor spoilers for the single-player campaign follow. Skip the following paragraph to avoid them. … [Read more...] about No Man’s Sky’s seventh expedition is a roguelike journey chasing a space whale
