February 2023 has been a much better month for me in terms of the VR games and apps that I've downloaded and played compared with January . Using my Oculus Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro I've had an absolute blast playing the VR hit The Last Clockwinder and also Barbaria , a recent addition to the Quest platform. Unfortunately, I can't say my experience working in VR using Meta's Horizon Workrooms app was as enjoyable (the software definitely needs some work still). Read on for my thoughts on these titles. And make sure to check out our picks for the best VR games and the best Oculus Quest 2 games to get some more recommendations of the VR games and apps you need to download. The Last Clockwinder The Last Clockwinder is the most involved auto clicker you will ever play and a fantastic puzzle game on the Quest platform, Steam VR, and soon the PlayStation VR 2. Can Magnets Relieve Pain?
"The Healthy Geezer" answers questions about health and aging in his weekly column. Question: Can magnets relieve pain? Answer: Here's the official position of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which is the medical research agency of the federal government: "Preliminary scientific studies of magnets for pain have produced mixed results. Overall, there is no convincing scientific evidence to support claims that magnets can relieve pain of any type. Some studies, including a recent National Institutes of Health (NIH) clinical trial for back pain, suggest the possibility of a small benefit from using magnets for pain. However, the majority of rigorous studies have found no effect on pain. More research on magnets for pain is needed before reaching any firm conclusion." People have been using magnets to improve health for a long time. In the third century A.D., the Greeks were treating arthritis with magnets. Medieval doctors used magnets to treat gout, … [Read more...] about Can Magnets Relieve Pain?
Ads are coming for the Bing AI chatbot, as they come for all Microsoft products
Microsoft has spent a lot of time and energy over the last few months adding generative AI features to all its products, particularly its long-standing, long-struggling Bing search engine. And now the company is working on fusing this fast-moving, sometimes unsettling new technology with some old headaches: ads. Further Reading The newest feature in the Microsoft Store is more ads In a blog post earlier this week , Microsoft VP Yusuf Mehdi said the company was "exploring placing ads in the chat experience," one of several things the company is doing "to share the ad revenue with partners whose content contributed to the chat response." The company is also looking into ways to let Bing Chat show sources for its work, sort of like the ways Google, Bing, and other search engines display a source link below snippets of information they think might answer the question you asked. Sharing ad revenue with partners is an attempt to address a looming supply-and-demand problem … [Read more...] about Ads are coming for the Bing AI chatbot, as they come for all Microsoft products

GPT 3.5 vs. GPT 4: What’s the Difference?
Compared to GPT-3.5, GPT-4 is smarter, can handle longer prompts and conversations, and doesn't make as many factual errors. However, GPT-3.5 is faster in generating responses and doesn't come with the hourly prompt restrictions GPT-4 does. If you’ve been following the rapid development of AI language models used in applications like ChatGPT and Bing AI chat , you’re likely familiar with OpenAI’s GPT-3 and GPT-4. But what about GPT 3.5, the stepping stone between these two AI titans? How does it compare to the latest GPT 4? What Is GPT 3.5? Nanobots to help humans attain immortality by 2030, claims Google scientist
Immortality may be as far as just seven years away. According to former Google scientist Ray Kurzweil , humans will attain immortality with the help of nanorobots in just seven years. Kurzweil has made the claim in a YouTube video posted by tech vlogger Adagio where he discussed expansion in genetics, nanotechnology, robotics and more. In the two-part video interview, the scientist emphasised his claim made in the 2005 book 'The Singularity Is Near' where he predicted that technology will allow humans to enjoy an everlasting life by 2030. “2029 is the consistent date I have predicted for when an AI will pass a valid [Alan] Turing test,” Kurzweil reportedly told Futurism in 2017 — referring to experiments that challenge computers to think like us — “and therefore achieve human levels of intelligence.” According to a report in NewYork Post , he further said, “I have set the date 2045 for the ‘Singularity’ which is when we will multiply our effective intelligence a … [Read more...] about Nanobots to help humans attain immortality by 2030, claims Google scientist
