The child has gone by Blu – the Italian spelling of blue – for the 18 months since she was born, her parents told Il Giorno, but despite the name being entered on her birth certificate and passport they received a summons ordering them to appear in court this week to choose another. "If we don't show up on Thursday with an alternative, a judge will decide our daughter's name for us," father Luca told the northern newspaper. The court's objection isn't just a matter of taste: it is based on a presidential decree, issued in 2000, that states that "the name given to a child must correspond to their sex". (KMTV) - The name change for Boy Scouts of America is creating a buzz online as people react the organization's recent move to become more inclusive.They will begin calling the program for ages 11 to 17 "Scouts BSA."It was a historic decision for Boy Scouts of America as they take the next step towards allowing females into all their programs with their focus on bringing families together in one spot. It's all a part of the new "Scout Me In" recruitment campaign, uniting girls and boys of the same family with one organization."Having Johnny in Scouts and Sally in soccer or some other activities — if they can go and do things together as a family unit, that's what families are looking for from the research we have," says Chris Mehaffey, scout executive and CEO of the Mid-America Council. If you have the feeling that just about every second German man you meet is called Max, you are wrong. But you aren't that wrong. Maximilian is the most common name that Germans give their baby boy. Nonetheless, in a study of a million names given last year, only 1.4 percent of baby boys were named Maximilian. In the 2016 study Maximilian came third, with Elias topping the ranking. But the rise of “Maxi” to the top is hardly surprising - it has repeatedly been the most popular boy's name since the list was first compiled in 1977.
