Audio player loading… Casio G-Shock has revamped its digital G-SQUAD running watch and G-LIDE surf watch lines with brand new looks. The newest additions to the G-SQUAD line, or the GBD-200 series to use its less catchy name, come in new gray (200UU-9, pictured above) and black (200UU-1, pictured below) colorways. The GBD-200 series are digital fitness watches that do offer Bluetooth connectivity to the G-Shock Move app, without being a fully-fledged smartwatch. It's engineered to track your steps and running pace, times and calories burned, as well as interval workouts. However, it doesn't offer sleep tracking, constant heart rate updates, or notifications: it's a slimmed-down experience for runners who don't want to feel constantly connected or prefer an old-school-cool aesthetic, rather than the flat black screen of a smartwatch on their wrists. It's also packing a huge seven-year battery life, combined with G-Shock's legendary durability with mineral glass, … [Read more...] about Watch out Fitbit: these new-look affordable G-Shocks might make digital watches cool again

Garmin’s new rear camera watches your back while you ride your bike
Audio player loading… Sports tech company Garmin is adding a much-needed camera to its Varia line of bicycle radar and tail lights. It’s called the Varia RCT715 and houses a 1080p camera that shoots at 30 fps. The device features Automatic Incident Capture that ensures it continues recording “before, during, and after” an accident. So as you can imagine, the RCT715 is a pretty sturdy device. It has a water resistance rating of IPX7 which means it can survive submerged up to one meter of water for a maximum time of 30 minutes. However, the Varia RCT715 offers no protection against dust or sand. When turned on, the Varia camera will record continuously and save the footage to the Varia app . You can then transfer that footage to your at-home computer or smartphone. The app will even alert you if the rear camera detects a car getting too close behind you (assuming you have your phone clamped to your bike and viewable while you ride). The RCT715 is also … [Read more...] about Garmin’s new rear camera watches your back while you ride your bike

Here’s How to Get Google Assistant on the Galaxy Watch 4
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 is one of the best smartwatches around, but unlike every other Wear OS device, it didn’t have Google Assistant. Now that has finally changed. Samsung revealed earlier this week that Google Assistant was finally rolling out to the Galaxy Watch 4, which has only had Samsung’s Bixby virtual assistant since the watch was released last year. The good news is that it’s showing up on watches automatically without the need to do anything — in my case, the Assistant icon appeared at the bottom of my watch’s app list, and tapping it started the setup process. If you don’t see Google Assistant yet, Droid Life pointed out you can force the installation by opening the Play Store app listing for “Google Assistant for wearables,” and then choosing your watch as the target device. Much easier than the process for installing Google Assistant on Samsung’s older Tizen-powered Galaxy Watches , which was also an unofficial version. By default, holding down the home … [Read more...] about Here’s How to Get Google Assistant on the Galaxy Watch 4
Steam Deck durability test might be the most painful video you’ll watch this year
Audio player loading… The Steam Deck has been put through a torture test to determine its durability, with Valve’s handheld doing well for the most part – with one exception (kind of). The testing was performed by YouTube hardware destruction specialist JerryRigEverything, who took a blade to the Steam Deck’s case, as well as scratching and burning the display, and trying to bend the whole device to see if it would break. And Valve’s mini gaming PC came through this host of tests with flying colors, pretty much, with the bend test, and applying a flame to the screen, all making no odds to the Deck which just shrugged off the punishment. There was one weak point picked out, as the title of the video suggests, and that’s the upgraded (etched) screen on the top-end (512GB) Steam Deck, which didn’t fare so well in scratch tests with Mohs’ hardness picks. The YouTuber observed that the upgraded anti-glare screen isn’t that great under bright light … [Read more...] about Steam Deck durability test might be the most painful video you’ll watch this year
Logitech MX Master 3S review: The best wireless mouse gets slightly better
Specs at a glance: Logitech MX Master 3S Sensor Optical (model not disclosed) Connectivity options Bluetooth Low Energy, 2.4 GHz wireless dongle Programmable buttons 6 Onboard profiles None Lighting None Size 4.92×3.32×2.01 inches (124.9×84.3×51 mm) Weight 4.97 ounces (141 g) Warranty One year Price (MSRP) $99 I've used the Logitech MX Master 3 as my primary productivity mouse since it came out in 2019. I've tested dozens of mice since, but none juggled a decent number of programmable buttons, advanced wireless capabilities, multi-device control, and long-term comfort as admirably as the MX Master 3. Today, Logitech released a revamped version, the MX Master 3S . It follows in Master 3's footsteps of wireless mouse excellence but doesn't introduce enough improvements to warrant ditching my MX Master 3 and opening my wallet again. As you might have guessed by the mild moniker modification, the 3S is … [Read more...] about Logitech MX Master 3S review: The best wireless mouse gets slightly better
JLab Epic Air Elite Review
When JLab's Epic Air earphones arrived last year, they felt like a big step forward for true wireless earbuds —they looked different than the competition and had better battery specs. At $149, the new Epic Air Elite earbuds cost the same, but boast even more battery life for their charging case than the original. The water-resistant in-ears also now have EQ modes you can switch between, as well as an ambient mode that allows you to hear your surroundings. While the original Epic Air earned our Editors' Choice, t his time around there are even more true wireless options to compete with, so the sequel falls a little shy of those honors. And while the Epic Air Elite earbuds deliver quality audio, there's room for improvement in next year's model. Design One key differentiator in the black-and-silver Epic Air Elite's design is the ear hook. Sure, we're used to seeing these on Bluetooth and wired fitness earphones, but true wireless in-ears rarely deviate from the standard, earplug … [Read more...] about JLab Epic Air Elite Review
