Germany Sends Back Just 4,100 of 68,000 Migrants Under Dublin Rules

January 18, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

In 2022, Germany attempted to send nearly 70,000 migrants back to other European Union countries where they first arrived under the Dublin Agreement, but was only successful in just over six per cent of the cases. Germany attempted to return 68,709 migrants last year to other member states under the Dublin agreement which allows countries to return migrants to the first state they filed an asylum application. The number of readmission applications is 62.5 per cent higher than 2021 and a record since 2014 but the number of migrants accepted back to other states party to the agreement was just 4,158, a mere 6.05 per cent of the total, the lowest number since 2014, German tabloid Bild reports . Since 2014, Germany has requested to send back a total of 444,849 migrants to other countries, which includes all European Union countries along with Norway, Switzerland, Lichenstein and Iceland but only 46,838 people have actually been sent back. With Highest Arrivals Since 2016, … [Read more...] about Germany Sends Back Just 4,100 of 68,000 Migrants Under Dublin Rules

Irish Senators Want Anti-Migrant Crisis Protests to Be Made Illegal

January 16, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Political and media figures in Ireland are demanding that protesting the country’s asylum crisis in front of migrant housing centres should be made illegal. Multiple bigwigs within Ireland’s political and media class have called for ongoing anti-migrant crisis protests taking place in the country to be rendered illegal, reports have indicated. The call represents a desperate attempt to curtail public backlash against Ireland’s asylum chaos, with local communities in a variety of areas across the Irish capital and beyond now frequently taking to the streets around migrant housing to protest large influxes of foreigners into their area, often without any consultation from officials. With Ireland’s political class having so far failed to curtail the protests, there are growing calls to simply declare demonstrations near asylum centres illegal, seemingly in the hopes of crushing the anti-open borders movement. According to a report by Gript Media, senators within the ruling … [Read more...] about Irish Senators Want Anti-Migrant Crisis Protests to Be Made Illegal

NY Mayor Eric Adams Wants $2 Billion to Care for Economic Migrants

January 16, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Ordinary Americans should pay the $2 billion cost of housing and feeding the economic migrants that New York City leaders are putting into Americans’ jobs and apartments, according to Mayor Eric Adams. “We expect more from our national leaders to address this in a real way,” Adams told a group of Venezuelan economic migrants during a brief Sunday trip to the border town of El Paso, Texas. “Our price tag could be anywhere from $1.5 to $2 billion,” Adams told told a radio interviewer on January 13. On Sunday, job seeking migrants cheered when Adams — a Democrat — told migrants he would fight to ensure that they “experience the American dream.” Outside Sacred Heart Church, asylum seekers overwhelmingly raise their hands to tell @NYCMayor they want to work. Mayor Adams has been calling on the federal government to expedite work authorization for asylum seekers since last year. pic.twitter.com/K4aFYgW8n3 — Fabien Levy (@Fabien_Levy) January 15, 2023 In December … [Read more...] about NY Mayor Eric Adams Wants $2 Billion to Care for Economic Migrants

review: A grim and unblinking psychological horror

March 7, 2016 by arstechnica.com Leave a Comment

Game Details Developer: LKA Publisher : LKA Platform : PC Release Date: February 26, 2016 Price : £13.99 / €18.99 / $18.99 Links: Steam | Official website There are times when the horror video game genre still feels like it's in its infancy, a clichéd mix of jump scares, shambling horrors, and gore-soaked scenery that should have long been buried. Sure, we all love the bloody dogs that leapt headfirst through a window in Resident Evil , and how we were forced to dive into a closet to hide from Silent Hill 2's ever-disturbing Pyramid Head, but the world has moved on. People have moved on. Isn't time the horror genre did too? That's not say there haven't been some horror classics of late—the terrifying P.T. demo and the, uh, "quirky" Deadly Premonition spring to mind—but horror games that continue to disturb once the end credits roll are a rarity, not a standard. First-person adventure The Town of Light takes a brave, if under-realised, stab at … [Read more...] about review: A grim and unblinking psychological horror

Best superhero games: what to play while waiting for Marvel’s Avengers to assemble

August 17, 2019 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

Audio player loading… Avengers: Endgame may have wrapped up the MCU in a neat (albeit emotional) bow but we are still looking to scratch that superhero itch - and we're hoping Crystal Dynamics' Marvel's Avengers game will be just the ticket. Marvel’s Avengers sees players taking on the roles of the most popular Avengers characters around in a single-player, story-driven game which also features four player co-op missions - because you can't save the world alone. In addition, new characters, regions, and missions will be added for free post-launch, as part of a continuous multi-year plan for the game. But who is on the super roster? The playable characters revealed so far are: Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk, and Thor. Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel was also briefly shown at the Marvel Games Comic-Con panel, and Hawkeye has been heavily hinted at. While Marvel’s Avengers isn’t out until May 15, 2020 that doesn’t mean you have to go without your superhero … [Read more...] about Best superhero games: what to play while waiting for Marvel’s Avengers to assemble

What Border Control? UK Expecting Record 65,000 Boat Migrants in 2023

January 24, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

A record number of around 65,000 boat migrants are expected to cross the English Channel and enter the UK in 2023, government officials have reportedly said. Officials from the UK’s Home Office reportedly expect that around 65,000 boat migrants will land on the shores of Britain this year, a report on Monday has claimed. This figure would represent an over 40 per cent increase on last year’s all-time record of around 45,000 boat migrants, with 2023 already seeing hundreds of arrivals in Dover, located in the south of England. According to a report by The Times ,  government officials appear to have given up any pretence that the crisis will be brought under control this year, with even the most optimistic estimate for boat migrant arrivals in 2023 matching last year’s record high of around 45,000. However, the paper claims that a median prediction of around 65,000 arrivals for this calendar year is deemed to be more realistic by officials, with the worst-case scenario … [Read more...] about What Border Control? Poll: Most Support Governors Asking Citizen Volunteers to Defend Southern Border

January 27, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Most likely voters support the prospect of individual governors asking citizen volunteers to defend the southern border, a Convention of States Action/Trafalgar Group survey released Wednesday found. The survey asked respondents, “If your state Governor asked for citizens to volunteer to help defend the Southern Border, would you support that Governor?” A small majority – 51.8 percent – said “yes,” they would support such action, compared to 31.9 percent who said “no” and 16.3 percent who remain unsure. Democrats are not generally supportive of that idea, as 69.5 percent said they would reject it, compared to two in ten who would support it. Ten percent remain unsure. Republicans are far more supportive, with 72.9 percent indicating that they would support the governor who pitched that idea. A plurality of independents, 46.9 percent, agree, but 36.2 percent said they would not support the idea. Another 16.9 percent of independents are unsure.
