Fanboys Suck (Posts: 609; Member since: 12 Dec 2008) See how AT&T Responds??? Ha! Another ridiculous Lawsuit, that's how. posted on 09 Nov 2009, 16:43 0 31. JeffdaBeat (unregistered) You know, at first I thought the commercials were pretty hilarious (and I still do) and thought the lawsuit AT&T set up was kind of stupid. Then new customer started coming in referencing the ad thinking they wouldn't have any service what so ever if they were outside of the 3G network. With the iPhone having "3G" in its name, they thought it was the only network it ran on. Now I see why AT&T is filing suit. True, AT&T needs to expand it's 3G network, but the ads are misleading as well... posted on 09 Nov … [Read more...] about Comments for : New Verizon ad takes aim right at AT&T and the iPhone
Apple underwater iphone case
It is still in the production and preorder stages, but, judging from a released video of the $69 iPhone 4 LifeProof case taken to the beach, it looks very promising. LifeProof, which is based in San Diego (hence the beach test:), claims that this is the thinnest iPhone case to comply to the full military IP-68 protection standard . It adds just sixteeenth of an inch (1.5mm) to Apple 's finest waistline, but manages to keep your iPhone 4 underwater up to 6.6 feet (2 meters) fully functional for half an hour. Plus, the whole case weighs just an ounce. Double-coated optical glass lenses ensure clear pics and video, and, of course, you can just wipe the protective glass above the screen from water, and you are good to go. If you have waterproof headphones , LifeProof will sell you an adapter for plugging them in, for those times you just feel like surfing with the music blasting from your iPhone 4. Or, alternatively, you can just use a few-dollar splash bag for your underwater … [Read more...] about LifeProof $69 case claims to be the slimmest waterproof protection for your iPhone 4

The iPhone 5s is mostly housed in the iPhone 5 chassis, with a few notable differences, like the different home key with Touch ID technology baked in, and the dual LED flash setup on the back, both of which, however, won't prevent it from fitting in most iPhone 5 cases bandied about as well. These subtle deviations don't really warrant a whole new crop of cases and covers that sprung for what is scheduled to be Apple's flagship for a while, but that's what we had, though most makers list their iPhone 5 cases to be compatible with the 5s, too. One of Apple’s famous slogans is “it just works,” although if they always worked, would there be a use for the Genius Bar? Anyway, when you purchase a pricey smartphone, you expect performance and reliability. After all, we depend on these devices for everything from calling emergency road service to ordering pizza. So you’ve got your Android fans and your iPhone fans. Michael Guntrum of Knox, Pennsylvania is one of the latter. He was ice fishing with a friend on Kyle Lake on March 2015 when he accidentally dropped his iPhone 4 into the freezing water.“We were sitting in our portable shanty, and I got a bite on my rod. I laid the phone on my lap, and it slipped off. Instead of landing flat in the snow, it hit its edge and rolled into the hole. I caught the fish — it was a blue gill — but it wasn’t worth it.”No, it wasn’t. But there’s more to the story. In September the lake was drained. Then in October, Daniel … [Read more...] about Man’s iPhone 4 survives plunge into icy lake for 18 months
If you like living on the edge, you really can’t take your iPad with you. Surviving sub-zero temperatures, dealing with sand, and functioning underwater aren’t really the iPad’s forte, so to speak. Snow Lizard is known for its insanely rugged iPhone cases and now it’s adding a new iPad case to the mix, called the SLXtreme. This super durable case fits the fourth-generation iPad only, though. The SLXtreme iPad case is made of a hard polycarbonate – ABS plastic shell with shock absorbing panels built into the back. Snow Lizard says the SLXtreme is MIL-Spec 810G graded, so it can survive drops from 6 feet above. The case can even protect your iPad under 6 feet of water because of its IP-68 certification. Neither sand, nor sleet, nor small hail can damage your iPad while its inside the SLXtreme case – at least, that’s the claim. In addition to all this protection, the SLXtreme case can also charge your other devices when you need it to. Now that the two new Apple iPhones are in the hands of reviewers and the public at large, we’re starting to learn a few things about these handsets that Apple didn’t explicitly cover in the run up to the launch — such as how waterproof or otherwise they are. YouTuber Zach Straley has posted an online video showing both the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus survive an hour in a bowl of water. This impressive capability is something Apple hasn’t mentioned at all . For that reason you shouldn’t consider the new phones officially waterproof, but it’s still good to know they’ll hold up well in a deluge. Both phones stay running throughout the test and everything from 3D Touch to the phone cameras continue to work after the hour spent underwater. You might remember a number of similar tests done on the Apple Watch , another Apple device that holds up surprisingly well to water. Part of the difficulty in … [Read more...] about Are Apple’s new iPhones secretly waterproof?
Catalyst, an aftermarket iPhone case manufacturer, wants to waterproof your watch. The company’s new protective cover for the Apple Watch, supposedly the first of its kind, went on sale earlier this year, and was on full display at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show on Tuesday.Catalyst’s Apple Watch case may not tickle everyone’s fancy — after all, the watertight sealing results in a bulkier build than is common with most sleeves — but it’s relatively minimalist nonetheless. The silicon case manages to encase the Apple Watch’s sides, lugs, straps, and even the power button and digital crown. Plastic extensions allow you to use the buttons unencumbered, too, but the case doesn’t cover the display or rear and leaves the charging surface and hear rate sensor left exposed. That doesn’t mean Catalyst’s case will enable you to actually use the Apple Watch’s touchscreen underwater, mainly … [Read more...] about Catalyst’s case waterproofs your Apple Watch
The overall design of both is similar to that introduced with the iPhone 6. Apple hit home the new “seamless” design that further blends the glass on the front and the rear case, and that’s partly due to a relocation of the antenna bands — they’re now on the top and bottom edges of the devices. The buttons are in the same place, but the home button is no longer a button. The new Force Touch home button acts like the Force Touch track pad on the newer Macbook Pro — you’ll feel a Taptic vibration whenever you push down on it.The camera, which still juts out a bit, is where you’ll find the main design difference between the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus (aside from size). The 7 Plus has a new dual-camera system, whereas the 7 only has a single rear camera. The iPhone 7 Plus’ rear-camera setup looks somewhat similar to the LG G5, which also uses a dual-camera setup. Both models come in rose gold, gold, silver, … [Read more...] about iPhone 7 vs. iPhone 7 Plus: Is the iPhone still best when you go big?
