Faster, better, and the future of mobile internet, 5G is certainly the connection you want on your smartphone. It means faster speeds for when you want to download something in a hurry, as well as being able to stream video more efficiently while sitting on the train during your daily commute. With speeds potentially being 100 times faster than standard 4G, the new norm is going to be spectacularly speedy (providing you live in an area that supports 5G). What does that mean for your smartwatch or fitness wearable though? It's not as though you'll find yourself often downloading hefty files to your watch or fitness tracker, after all. So, will 5G really make a significant difference to smartwatch users? With a growing trend for wearables to be self-sufficient rather than relying on smartphone connectivity, there's huge potential for growth here, but not necessarily in the same way that you'll see with your smartphone. The importance of 5G to wearables is a little more … [Read more...] about How will smartwatches and fitness trackers make use of 5G?

Home News Space Daily news 17 January 2019 By Leah CraneWe’ve spotted the rainy season near the north pole of Saturn’s moon Titan. Images taken by the Cassini spacecraft before it plunged into the gas giant planet have revealed a huge shining plain of wet ground that likely came from a summer rainstorm on Titan – the only other world where we know it rains. Titan is in some ways a bizarre version of Earth, complete with seas, lakes and rivers. The crucial difference is that it is not water flowing on Titan, but liquid methane and other hydrocarbons. When Cassini arrived at the Saturn system in 2004, it was summer at Titan’s south pole, and there were signs of clouds and rainfall there. Models predicted that the stormy season should slowly move towards the north pole over the next decade or so, but by 2014 only a few patchy clouds had materialised there. 2019 is off to a good start, with an actual photo of a supposed Galaxy S10 being posted by @evleaks. As we can clearly see, this device aligns with multiple reports from last year, which stated Samsung would skip the display notch entirely and go straight for the Infinity O design that it showcased at its annual tech conference. The industry has coined this the hole punch notch, similar to what Huawei recently unveiled on the Nova 4. What we can also see is that it appears the dedicated Bixby button is not yet dead, with it appearing below the volume rocker on the left side. As for what else can be expected in the Galaxy S10, it’s reported that we should see an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint reader, at least one 5G variant, and a camera feature similar to that of Google’s Night Sight. Infinity O. Ultrasonic fingerprint reader. 5G. Night Sight-like camera. One UI. I’m sorry, but this phone has me a little hot and bothered right now. // @evleaks … [Read more...] about Actual Photo of Galaxy S10 Emerges, Hole Punch Notch and All
Bitcoin.com founder and CEO Roger Ver is incredibly bullish on the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem despite recent reports of hacking. He says that if it wasn’t worth something or wasn’t useful hackers wouldn’t be wasting their time trying to hack it. Ver is focused on the bigger picture of taking cryptocurrency mainstream. He says that we need to build an economy that is actually using cryptocurrencies as currencies rather than just a lot of speculators speculating. Roger Ver, founder, and CEO of Bitcoin.com, discussed the current state of cryptocurrencies from his home base in Japan with Bloomberg: Incredibly Bullish on the Entire Cryptocurrency Ecosystem Part of the excitement of cryptocurrencies is that nobody knows if it is going to go up, down, or sideways in the short-term. I’m a fundamentals investor so I’m investing in fundamentals. Long-term the future is brighter than ever. There is more awareness, there’s more adoption, … [Read more...] about Bitcoin.com CEO: We Need to Build an Economy That is Actually Using Cryptocurrencies
