did an excellent job with the Best of Android 2018 for smartphones. However, there are still two more major categories that still need judgment. They include Android apps and Android games. We don’t have a super scientific method of measuring apps. Different apps do different things and appeal to different people, after all. Thus, we couldn’t immediately figure out a way to determine the very best Android apps. Instead, we’re going to ask you! To help keep to expectation, our criteria for this list include: The apps (or services) are from 2018 or at least the last few weeks of 2017. We cut off the wait time in early December every year. The developers had to update the app at least a few times to overcome new app bug problems. We do not include apps … [Read more...] about Cast your vote for the best Android apps released in 2018!

Review By Neil Hughes Sunday, February 11, 2018, 05:00 am PT (08:00 am ET) I love Apple's HomePod, and I want one in every room of my house. But I also kind of hate HomePod for its reliance on Siri. While testing HomePod, I went through a range of emotions. Some of its features and capabilities surprised and delighted me. Sometimes my interaction with it was downright frustrating. Through it all, I have remained hopeful. Not because I am satisfied with the HomePod as it is now, but because I see the groundwork laid for something incredible. … [Read more...] about HomePod review: Your mileage may vary, but crank it up for the ride
Last year, Motorola opened the door on hardware expansion for its smartphones with the launch of the new Moto Z series, complete with support for Moto Mods add-ons. While we got a decent selection of Moto Mod options in that first batch, including some interesting ideas like a portable projector, a modular platform is going to live or die based on the amount of hardware support it sees; would Motorola be in this for the long haul? The good news there is that the answer seems to be “very much yes,” and 2017 has already seen the launch of a bunch of new Moto Mods, including the brand-new Moto 360 Camera, just introduced yesterday alongside the Moto Z2 Force. And though these new Moto Mods have been great to see, for months now there's been a question hanging over our heads: Where's the Moto GamePad?Motorola first confirmed the GamePad back at the end of February, but had little to say about its release beyond that we could expect the accessory to land sometime this summer. As … [Read more...] about Moto GamePad hands-on: Super-charge gaming with the new Moto Mod
