Breitbart News Daily Podcast Ep. 136: Pennsylvania Showdown: Interviews with Kathy Barnette, Dave McCormick
Today’s podcast features two interviews and two interviews only. So, no monologue from host Alex Marlow, but if you are craving one, you can listen to it on the SiriusXM app. Alex spends a lot of time with Pennsylvania Republican Senate primary candidate Kathy Barnette this morning. She’s the outsider candidate who has had a meteoric rise, but not without controversy. Alex covers it all with her. She doesn’t directly answer all of his questions, but she does break news in the instances when she does. Then, Alex speaks to another Pennsylvania Republican Senate primary candidate, David McCormick. He has a wildly different background and demeanor than Barnette, though they apparently have arrived at very similar politics. McCormick comes right at apparent front-runner Dr. Mehmet Oz in his segment and provides a couple of stark contrasts between him and Barnette as well. And while Barnette lacks some polish, she does get the people going. McCormick comes off as more of a consummate … [Read more...] about Breitbart News Daily Podcast Ep. 136: Pennsylvania Showdown: Interviews with Kathy Barnette, Dave McCormick
Airbnb to sue host of Pittsburgh party where a shooting left two dead
After a shooting at an Easter weekend house party at an Airbnb in Pittsburgh left two teenagers dead and another eight people with gunshot wounds, Airbnb says it plans to pursue legal action against the person who booked the party. “Airbnb strictly bans parties, and we condemn the behavior that is alleged to have prompted this criminal gun violence and the tragic loss of life,” spokesperson Ben Breit said in a statement emailed to The Verge . The booking guest has been permanently banned from the platform, he said. The party was “unauthorized,” Breit added, and was held without the knowledge or consent of the property host. The shooting happened on Easter Sunday just after 12:30AM, according to Pittsburgh police . Some 200 people were at the party in the city’s East Allegheny neighborhood, and police said as many as 50 rounds were fired inside, forcing some people to jump out of windows to escape. Security footage showed Pittsburgh police visited the scene of the party around … [Read more...] about Airbnb to sue host of Pittsburgh party where a shooting left two dead
Nail-Biter in PA: Oz’s Razor-Thin Lead Could Fall to McCormick; Mail Votes Yet to Be Counted
Dr. Mehmet Oz and businessman David McCormick are within 0.3 percent of each other in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania heading into the early hours of Wednesday morning. Oz has a 2,672-vote edge over McCormick with 95 percent of votes reported as of about 2 a.m., according to a New York Times tabulation. McCormick had held a slight lead throughout much of the night, but Oz was expected to pull ahead, potentially only temporarily, toward the end of the vote counting, as Breitbart News detailed in its live coverage of election night. Oz’s lead, however, may not withstand the thousands of mail-in ballots that have yet to be counted considering McCormick has performed better with mail-in ballots counted thus far. Ryan Matsumoto with Inside Elections noted there could be about 30,000 outstanding mail-in ballots, and McCormick has so far led Oz by about nine percent in mail-in ballots. If the outstanding ballots end up being consistent or close to … [Read more...] about Nail-Biter in PA: Oz’s Razor-Thin Lead Could Fall to McCormick; Mail Votes Yet to Be Counted
Carla Sands: Kathy Barnette is Chuck Schumer’s ‘Favorite Candidate’
Pennsylvania Republican U.S. Senate candidate Carla Sands attacked opponent Kathy Barnette by calling her Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s “favorite candidate.” “Kathy Barnette is Chuck Shumer’s favorite candidate in the Pa Senate race!” Sands tweeted on Saturday. Kathy Barnette is Chuck Shumer’s favorite candidate in the Pa Senate race! — Carla Sands (@CarlaHSands) May 14, 2022 Sands’ hit against Barnette comes after Barnette’s campaign plateaued following a brief surge that put her within striking distance of Dr. Mehmet Oz. Her star power began to steadily rise with conservatives and the MAGA Trump base after she released her powerful video in which she decried abortion by citing her own beginnings as a child conceived in rape when her mother was just age 11. “I’m the byproduct of rape. My mother was eleven when I was conceived,” she tweeted. “In the world the Left desires, I would never have been born. We need leaders with a steady hand to direct our nation … [Read more...] about Carla Sands: Kathy Barnette is Chuck Schumer’s ‘Favorite Candidate’
David McCormick Closing Video Ad: ‘I’ve Been America First my Whole Life’
Businessman David McCormick, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, emphasized his military service in his closing ad, saying, “I’ve been America First my whole life. I’m the one that volunteered when I was 18 and put it all on the line.” McCormick graduated from West Point military academy and went on to serve in the Persian Gulf War as part of the Army’s All-American 82nd Airborne Division. McCormick’s final pitch to voters comes two days before Pennsylvania’s GOP primary, which is closely matched between McCormick, Mehmet Oz, and Kathy Barnette. The most recent poll found McCormick having a narrow lead over his challengers going into the final weekend of the primary campaign season. Democrats have signaled they see McCormick as their biggest threat in the general election and are reportedly “salivating at the prospect” of running against Barnette in November. “I am incredibly optimistic about our future. This is the American story. We get to the … [Read more...] about David McCormick Closing Video Ad: ‘I’ve Been America First my Whole Life’
Dr. Oz: ‘I Want to Be Careful’ Calling 2020 Election ‘Rigged’
Republican Pennsylvania Senate hopeful Mehmet Oz on Monday expressed caution in referring to the 2020 presidential election as “rigged.” Oz, in an interview with Real America’s Voice’s “The Water Cooler,” acknowledged there was “mischievousness” in the election that should be examined. “‘Not move on’ means there’s so many different things that happened, as you really, really examine it,” Oz emphasized. “As a physician, you know, I like to get into the details. I’ve talked to individuals who say their votes weren’t counted — went to the polls and claimed that someone had already voted with their absentee ballot. There’s so many questions, and not just about the absentee ballots but the fact they don’t have voter ID here. That opened up the whole system to mischievousness.” “We have got to understand the different ways where cheating occurred so we can, first of all, identify how much happened, but also make sure that it never happens again,” he added. Host David Brody asked … [Read more...] about Dr. Oz: ‘I Want to Be Careful’ Calling 2020 Election ‘Rigged’
Report: PA Polls Forced to Turn Voters Away Due to Ballot Shortage

The ballot shortage impacted multiple polling stations in Pennsylvania’s Allegheny County, including at polling stations in Stowe Township and Hanover Heights. Report: RNC, PA GOP to Intervene Against McCormick’s Ballot Counting Litigation
The Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Pennsylvania GOP oppose Republican David McCormick’s lawsuit that argues undated mail-in ballots should be counted in his Senate race, and the two groups are now planning to intervene in the suit, according to a report. The report, shared on social media by the New York Times’ Maggie Haberman, cited “GOP sources” and comes after RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel indicated her disapproval of McCormick’s ballot fight on Fox News on Sunday. “The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled this year, and the RNC very much supports, that ballots should not be counted without a date,” McDaniel said . “I think that’s the law in Pennsylvania. I think that should be followed, and we certainly do not think that ballots without dates should be counted because how do you know when they came in?” Politico reported on McCormick’s lawsuit, noting that knowing when a mail-in ballot with an undated envelope has arrived is a nonissue. Election officials … [Read more...] about Report: RNC, PA GOP to Intervene Against McCormick’s Ballot Counting Litigation
Exclusive — McDaniel Quells Concerns over Alleged Primary Interference
Republican National Committee (RNC) chairwoman Ronna McDaniel in a Tuesday interview with Breitbart News swatted away concerns from several Republicans that the party’s intervention against Pennsylvania GOP Senate candidate David McCormick’s post-election lawsuit is a sign the party has broader plans for interference in open primaries. The RNC has a longstanding practice of neutrality in open primaries, and the party’s decisions to intervene against litigation from McCormick raised more than a few eyebrows among Republicans concerned the RNC might start engaging heavily for or against candidates in primaries. McDaniel, however, in an interview with Breitbart News insists that is not the case, that this is a “unique” case, and that the RNC does not view this action as working against McCormick or for his opponent Mehmet Oz–but merely as the RNC protecting its views and interests on election integrity in a key battleground state. The facts of the case in question aside, however, … [Read more...] about Exclusive — McDaniel Quells Concerns over Alleged Primary Interference
