More than a dozen pro-life groups sent letters to CVS Health and Walgreens Boots Alliance pharmacy chains, urging them to reverse course and refuse to dispense abortion-inducing drugs. Family Research Council and thirteen other pro-life organizations sent the letters on Friday, just a few weeks after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) made a regulatory change allowing retail pharmacies to dispense mifepristone — the first pill used in a two-drug medication abortion regimen — in-store and by mail order, though patients will still need a prescription from a certified health care provider. At the same time, the FDA officially removed the in-person requirement from its regulatory rule book for mifepristone, meaning women will continue to be able to obtain a prescription for the abortion pill via telemedicine. Mifepristone (Mifeprex) and Misoprostol, the two drugs used in a medication abortion, are seen at the Women’s Reproductive Clinic, which provides legal … [Read more...] about Pro-Life Groups to Walgreens, CVS: Do Not Offer Abortion Pills

SD Gov. Kristi Noem to Pharmacists: Dispensing Abortion Pills Is Felony
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) and state Attorney General Marty Jackley sent a letter to pharmacists on Tuesday warning them that despite the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) rule change around mifepristone, dispensing abortion pills is illegal in the state. “In 2022, the United States Supreme Court held that there is no federal constitutional right to an abortion. In doing so, all abortions became illegal in the State of South Dakota, except those necessary to save the life of the mother. This prohibition includes chemical abortions,” the letter reads. “In South Dakota, any person who administers, prescribes, or procures for any pregnant female any medicine or drug with the intent to induce an abortion is guilty of a felony.” The letter was sent in reference to an early January FDA regulatory change allowing retail pharmacies to dispense mifepristone — the first pill used in a two-drug medication abortion regimen — in-store and by mail order, though … [Read more...] about SD Gov. Republicans to ‘Go on Offense’ in 2024 on Abortion
The Republican National Committee pledged to advocate for life and “go on offense” about abortion in the 2024 election cycle. According to a resolution adopted by the RNC during their meeting in Dana Point, California, the RNC asks candidates, consultants, and other activists to “remember this proud heritage” of advocating life, and “go on offense in the 2024 election cycle.” The resolution calls for Republicans to “expose the Democrats’ extreme position of supporting abortion on-demand up until the moment of birth, paid for by the taxpayers, even supporting discriminatory abortions such as gender selection or when the child has been diagnosed with Down syndrome.” It also asks state legislatures to “pass the strongest pro-life legislation possible,” such as heartbeat bills, “underscoring the new relics of barbarism the Democratic Party.” This resolution comes as many criticized the party and its candidates for not addressing the issue of abortion, particularly in light of … [Read more...] about Republicans to ‘Go on Offense’ in 2024 on Abortion
Websites selling abortion pills are sharing sensitive data with Google
This story originally appeared on ProPublica . Online pharmacies that sell abortion pills are sharing sensitive data with Google and other third parties, which may allow law enforcement to prosecute those who use the medications to end their pregnancies , a ProPublica analysis has found. Using a tool created by the Markup , a nonprofit tech-journalism newsroom, ProPublica ran checks on 11 online pharmacies that sell abortion medication to reveal the web tracking technology they use. FTC urged to take action against deceptive VPNs amid abortion ban
Audio player loading… Following the fall of Roe v. Wade and the ensuing abortion bans, women in the US have been recommended to use one of the best VPN services to protect their sensitive health information. However, not all VPN providers live up to their security and privacy claims. This is why lawmakers are urging the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to take action against what they describe as "deceptive advertising and data collection practices." On July 13, US. Rep. Anna Eshoo and Senator Ron Wyden wrote a letter (opens in new tab) to the FTC Chair Lina Khan to call for the Commission to better regulate the sector. "The VPN industry is extremely opaque, and many VPN providers exploit, mislead, and take advantage of unwitting consumers," they wrote. Lawmakers lamented a lack of tools to carry out independent VPN audits to back up providers' security claims. They also pointed out how some VPN review sites are actually owned by companies selling … [Read more...] about FTC urged to take action against deceptive VPNs amid abortion ban
Supreme Court Leak Investigation Appears Not to Have Questioned Justices
The investigation into who might have leaked a draft Supreme Court opinion in the landmark Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case last May appears not to have included Justices themselves in questioning. The decision, which ultimately was little changed from the draft version, overturned the Court’s controversial precedent in Roe v. Wade (1973) on a “constitutional right” to abortion, and returned the issue to the states. The leak to Politico , an unprecedented breach of protocol, caused an uproar and led to a wave of protest and violence, with attacks on pro-life institutions and even an attempted assassination of Justice Brett Kavanaugh. As Breitbart News reported Thursday, the investigation concluded without identifying the source of the leak: The investigation by the marshal of the Supreme Court included a forensic investigation of laptops and phones but found “no relevant information from these devices.” The marshal’s office determined that 82 … [Read more...] about Supreme Court Leak Investigation Appears Not to Have Questioned Justices
Windows 11 preview build makes it easier to learn why your computer crashes
Audio player loading… Windows 11 Preview Build 25276 is currently available for download from the Windows Insider Program. The big draw is a new diagnostic tool that will help with troubleshooting. Also in Microsoft's latest package are some design tweaks and several bug fixes. The new tool will allow users to create a live kernel memory dump (opens in new tab) (LKD) of their system to help diagnose problems. A memory dump, also known as a core dump, is a record of your computer’s memory at a certain time, usually when the OS or an app is having some performance problems. Microsoft states you’ll be able to get a record of those problems as they happen in real-time without interrupting Windows 11 from operating as normal. The goal is to speed up troubleshooting for “high-impact failures and hangs.” The LKD tool will have its home in the Task Manager under the Details section. Right-click the System process and there will be an entry that reads “Create live kernel … [Read more...] about Windows 11 preview build makes it easier to learn why your computer crashes
Irish Senators Want Anti-Migrant Crisis Protests to Be Made Illegal
Political and media figures in Ireland are demanding that protesting the country’s asylum crisis in front of migrant housing centres should be made illegal. Multiple bigwigs within Ireland’s political and media class have called for ongoing anti-migrant crisis protests taking place in the country to be rendered illegal, reports have indicated. The call represents a desperate attempt to curtail public backlash against Ireland’s asylum chaos, with local communities in a variety of areas across the Irish capital and beyond now frequently taking to the streets around migrant housing to protest large influxes of foreigners into their area, often without any consultation from officials. With Ireland’s political class having so far failed to curtail the protests, there are growing calls to simply declare demonstrations near asylum centres illegal, seemingly in the hopes of crushing the anti-open borders movement. According to a report by Gript Media, senators within the ruling … [Read more...] about Irish Senators Want Anti-Migrant Crisis Protests to Be Made Illegal
Chelsea Handler Claims She Thought the Sun and Moon Were the Same Until Age 40
Comedienne Chelsea Handler has claimed to have believed the sun and the moon were the same celestial entities until the age of 40 when her sister corrected her. Handler, age 47, made her startling admission to late-night host Jimmy Fallon ahead of her hosting the Critics Choice Awards show this past Sunday. Handler gave no clarification as to whether or not she was joking, revealing she believed well past her 30s the sun and moon were both the same. “This is true. I didn’t know until I was 40 years old that the sun and the moon were not the same thing,” Handler said. Handler said her epiphany came while she and her sister were riding elephants in Africa. “My older sister Simone looked up at the sky, and she said, ‘Chelsea, look up. It’s not often you get to see the sun and the moon at the same time,'” Handler recalled of the moment. “I was like Scooby Doo. I’m like, ‘Ruh, what?'” “I go, ‘Wait, but they’re always together,’ and as soon as I said that, she turned around and … [Read more...] about Chelsea Handler Claims She Thought the Sun and Moon Were the Same Until Age 40
‘RINO’ Mitch Daniels, Allies Lash Out Against Donald Trump, Jim Banks in Heated Senate Primary
Former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (R) and his surrogates have increasingly lashed out against former President Donald Trump and Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) as the Hoosier State Senate Republican primary has reached a fever pitch. Daniels, a former two-term governor and former Purdue University president, is poised to enter the contentious Senate Republican primary to replace the outgoing Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN), who is running for governor in 2024. As he appears ready to enter the race, Daniels resides at a newly purchased home in Naples, Florida, where he has been reportedly golfing and fishing. In a nutshell, the primary represents the continuing battle between the more traditional, Bush-era Republicans and the more pro-Trump, populist-leaning candidates such as Banks. Daniels served as the director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) under former President George W. Bush, and was cited as a potential presidential candidate in 2012 and 2016. Donald Trump Jr., Donald … [Read more...] about ‘RINO’ Mitch Daniels, Allies Lash Out Against Donald Trump, Jim Banks in Heated Senate Primary
