ROME — Bishop Robert Barron of Winona-Rochester has blasted a new Minnesota abortion law as “morally outrageous” and “the worst kind of barbarism.” In a video posted on social media, Bishop Barron described the bill signed this week by Democrat Gov. Tim Walz as “the most radical abortion law in the country” while calling on Americans to “stand against this barbarism.” Friends, there is a morally outrageous bill that has now been signed into law by @GovTimWalz . Netflix brings its impressive Spatial Audio sound to even more shows
Audio player loading… It was big news when, in July 2022, Netflix teamed up with audio behemoth Sennheiser to bring Spatial Audio support to a handful of the former’s original movies and TV shows for customers on its premium plan, without the need for specialist headphones that support it. At the time of announcement, that support was limited to tentpole projects like Stranger Things , The Adam Project and The Witcher – but now, Netflix has announced plans to expand spatial audio compatibility to over 700 existing and upcoming titles. In essence, this kind of Spatial Audio converts regular stereo output into expansive, three-dimensional sound that aims to mimic the experience of watching movies in a theater. Headphones that work with Dolby Atmos , such as Apple AirPods Pro 2 , could already do Spatial Audio from Netflix – but this new system improves the quality of sound emitted from any of the best headphones , as well as from laptop or standard TV … [Read more...] about Netflix brings its impressive Spatial Audio sound to even more shows
Acura and Cadillac shine, BMW and Porsche falter at the Rolex 24
DAYTONA BEACH, FLA.—With just one race on the books, it's probably too soon to declare this the dawn of a new golden era in racing, but that thought was on many minds at last weekend's spectator-packed Rolex 24 at Daytona. The grueling 24-hour race is the season-opening event for the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, and 2023 saw the introduction of a new class of hybrid prototype race cars called GTP (for Grand Touring Prototype). The crowds were heavier than ever, buoyed by the debut of the new machines, which put on a good show. And the complicated new energy-based pit stop formula didn't appear to present anyone any trouble. The same can't be said for the race itself. Twenty-four-hour racing is hard —I speak from some experience—and making it to the end should be, and is, a challenge. A 24-hour race as the first race of the year for all-new cars is even more difficult, despite the thousands of miles each car covered in testing over the past few months. As such, some feared … [Read more...] about Acura and Cadillac shine, BMW and Porsche falter at the Rolex 24

Security researcher finds bug that may have allowed hackers to bypass Facebook’s 2FA
Meta created a centralised system to allow users to manage connected experiences like logging in across accounts on Facebook and Instagram . A security researcher has said a bug in this system, called Meta Accounts Center , may have allowed hackers to disable two-factor authentication (2FA) – a way that helps users to keep their social media accounts protected from unauthorised access. Gtm Mänôz, a security researcher from Nepal, said he reported a bug he found in the Meta Accounts Center in September last year. Bug in Meta Accounts Center Mänôz said that he found that Meta did not set up a limit to enter login code it sends via SMS as a part of the two-factor authentication process. As per the researcher, this bug would have allowed a hacker to bypass the authentication protections using brute force attacks. tiktok: TikTok will allow users to reset the ‘For You’ feed, bring ‘strikes’ for policy violators
TikTok is reportedly working on a way for users to reset their ‘For You’ page, a key element in the app’s user experience. According to a report in The Verge, quoting company spokesperson Jamie Favazza, the short video platform is testing the new ‘Refresh’ button that will reset users’ For You feed. The For You feed is TikTok’s main section which shows users new content. Over time, this feed starts showing custom recommendations based on the user’s previous activity. However, there may be instances where the algorithm doesn’t show enough relevant content. In that case, the Refresh option can be used to undo the existing custom feed and let you start from scratch. When will United Launch Alliance’s Vulcan rocket fly?
The large Vulcan rocket, which has received dozens of launch orders from the US Department of Defense and Amazon for its Project Kuiper megaconstellation, is due to make its debut at some point this year. But when? In response to a query from Ars, a spokesperson from the rocket's primary customer, Astrobotic, said the mission is targeted for a launch during the first quarter of 2023, i.e., before the end of March. A spokesperson for Vulcan's manufacturer, United Launch Alliance, did not specify a time frame, saying a launch date would only be set after additional testing was completed. While there is no official launch date, some interesting clues have turned up in the last week or two, and it's therefore possible to make an educated guess. With much work left to do before the heavy-lift rocket takes flight from Cape Canaveral, Florida, a reasonable target for a no-earlier launch date is May 2023. The payload Like most large rocket projects, Vulcan's debut has been delayed by a … [Read more...] about When will United Launch Alliance’s Vulcan rocket fly?
