Why Are Tripod Heads Important? If you’re just starting out and building your kit , you may be wondering whether you should bother with a tripod head at all. Some tripods come packaged with one, while others are designed to work with various options depending on the intended use. Do you really need a tripod? To get the most out of your tripod, you’ll want to invest in a good head to pair it with. A well-engineered tripod head allows a photographer or videographer to get the angles they need and lock the camera securely in place without hand-holding. You don’t have to spend over a grand on one, but it’s worth it to put a little money down, especially if you know you’ll be using a tripod often. Landscape photographers, wildlife shooters, and people that do a lot of night photography can all benefit from a sturdy tripod head. Like any other piece of kit, a tripod head is a tool. Which one you need comes down to what and how you shoot. If you’re shooting in the wild regularly, … [Read more...] about The Best Tripod Heads of 2022

California law enforcement moves to buy drones, draws controversy
Since Congress passed legislation in February ordering the Federal Aviation Administration to fast-track the approval of unmanned aerial vehicles—more colloquially known as drones—for use by law enforcement agencies, police and sheriff departments across the country have been scrambling to purchase the smaller, unarmed cousins of the Predator and Reaper drones which carry out daily sorties over Afghanistan, Yemen, and other theaters of operation. GOP Rep. Waltz: ‘We Are Drunk as a Country on Chinese Money’
Representative Michael Waltz (R-FL) warns that U.S. dependence on China is playing into the hands of the Communist Chinese. During an appearance on Fox News on Monday, Waltz called the United States “drunk” on Chinese money, which jeopardizes national security. “I think the entire country needs to wake up to what’s going on,” he said. “We are drunk as a country on Chinese money, from Hollywood to Wall Street, to the sports industry, to — and certainly in our politics. The biggest example of what the Chinese call elite capture is obviously Hunter Biden. But here’s why Taiwan matters to every American. Today, it can be blockading shipping and commercial aircraft going into Taiwan. Tomorrow, it can be oil into Japan, and then the next — the next move by Chairman Xi could be pharmaceuticals into the United States. We just saw the Senate pass billions to go into green energy. Where’s all that going, Harris?” “It’s going into Chinese-made solar panels, Chinese-made wind turbines, … [Read more...] about GOP Rep. Waltz: ‘We Are Drunk as a Country on Chinese Money’
