London: Foreigners Arrested over 36k Times in 2021, 707 for Rape

January 20, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Foreigners were detained by London’s Metropolitan Police an astonishing 36,735 times in 2021, including dozens suspected of murder and hundreds suspected of rape. Data from the National Strategy for Police Information Systems (NSPIS) Custody system obtained by Breitbart London through the Freedom of Information Act broke down detainees in Met custody suites by nationality and their so-called First Arrest Offence — with the force noting that “Detainee[s] could later be dealt with for further Offences”. Notably, the figures did not include dual nationals — that is, detainees holding British nationality in addition to a foreign nationality — or thousands of foreigners held in London area custody suites operated by the City of London Police or the British Transport Police rather than the Metropolitan Police. Still, even taking these considerations into account, the burden of dealing with foreigners arrested for criminal activity appeared to be enormous, with 82 held for murder, … [Read more...] about London: Foreigners Arrested over 36k Times in 2021, 707 for Rape

‘Functionally Illiterate’ Officers Recruited by London Police to Up Diversity

January 27, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

London’s Metropolitan Police recruited officers who are “functionally illiterate” in English in order to increase diversity, according a member of His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary. The diversity and inclusion push from the woke leadership of the largest police force in Britain has seen the Met accept applicants who can barely write in English, HMI Matt Parr said. The police watchdog said that while he felt that it was “noble and right” to increase the number of ethnic minorities hired by Scotland Yard, Parr urged that this must not be at the cost of lowering standards. “We completely support the idea that London – which will likely be a minority white city in the next decade or so – should not be policed by an overwhelmingly white police force,” Parr told The Telegraph . “That is clearly wrong. It is not just wrong from a legitimacy point of view, and from an appearances point of view, it is also operationally wrong because it means that the Met does not get … [Read more...] about ‘Functionally Illiterate’ Officers Recruited by London Police to Up Diversity

Khan’s London: Met Police Hiring ‘Racism Spotters’ to Examine Officers

June 30, 2020 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

London’s Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is currently hiring so-called ‘racism spotters’ to examine whether prospective police officers are prejudiced, as the city’s leftist mayor, Sadiq Khan, prepares to cut the budget of actual police. The civilian staffed position has been in place since 2003, yet the salary for racism spotters has recently been given a 50 per cent bump, meaning that they can earn £150 per day, plus expenses. The pay for the position, which is part-time, would be equivalent to a full-time salary of £39,000 — ten thousand more pounds than the starting rate for actual police officers, according to calculations made by British newspaper The Sun . Recent advertisements from the Cressida Dick-led Metropolitan Police were promoting 50 open racism spotter positions, with those hired to work for at least 25 days per year. Prospective hirees are not required to hold any experience or qualifications in the field to be employed, though it is unclear what would … [Read more...] about Khan’s London: Met Police Hiring ‘Racism Spotters’ to Examine Officers

London: Four Charged for ‘Black Lives Matter’ Attack on Police

June 15, 2020 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Four males have appeared in court after police officers in London were attacked by a crowd shouting “black lives matter”. Three men and a 13-year-old boy appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court charged with what the prosecutor described as “an unprovoked, deliberate group attack on two serving police officers simply doing their daily jobs”. PC Macpherson and PC Ali “fear[ed] they were going to die” as they were kicked, beaten and spat at by a crowd of men shouting “pigs”, “racist” and “black lives matter”, the court heard , according to The Sun . Footage of the incident went viral last week, with public figures including UK Home Secretary Priti Patel taking to Twitter to condemn the attack as “sickening, shocking and disgraceful”. The beating began after officers attempted to stop and question a man in Hackney, London, according to Sky News home affairs correspondent, Mark White. The 13-year-old pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting an emergency worker on … [Read more...] about London: Four Charged for ‘Black Lives Matter’ Attack on Police

Brussels Mulls Banning Pfizer Officials from European Parliament

January 15, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Officials within Brussels are mulling a possible ban on Pfizer officials from being allowed into the European Parliament, a report suggests. Officials from Big Pharma company Pfizer, including the multinational’s CEO, Albert Bourla, could soon be banned from the European Parliament, a report on Friday has revealed. It comes as the group finds itself at the centre of numerous controversies in Europe, with both senior officials within the EU and the vaccine manufacturer refusing to release details relating to the EU’s procurement of jabs during the pandemic. According to a report by Euroactiv, the European Parliament’s committee on COVID (COVI) has now voted in favour of the ban, with only two political groups — the European People’s Party and Renew Europe — voting against the resolution. Members of the COVI body have reportedly referenced Pfizer’s apparent unwillingness to be transparent with theM for the ban, with Bourla’s repeated failure to appear in front of the … [Read more...] about Brussels Mulls Banning Pfizer Officials from European Parliament

At Least 40 Dead Including Children in Missile Strike, Russia Denies

January 17, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

AFP — The toll from a devastating strike on the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro was expected to rise past 40 on Tuesday as rescuers searched the rubble for 25 people still missing after one of Russia’s deadliest attacks since its invasion. President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced the missile strike as a war crime. “There is no doubt: every person guilty of this war crime will be identified and brought to justice,” Zelensky said in his nightly address late Monday. Kyiv has called for more weapons to defend itself and at the weekend received pledges of British tanks, but Russian President Vladimir Putin warned more armaments would only intensify fighting and the Kremlin vowed to burn the gear. A photograph shows a residential building destroyed after a missile strike, in Dnipro on January 16, 2023, amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine. – According to State Emergency Service report, as of 1:00 pm on December 16, 40 people died, including 6 children; 75 people got injured, … [Read more...] about At Least 40 Dead Including Children in Missile Strike, Russia Denies

January 18, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

In 2022, Germany attempted to send nearly 70,000 migrants back to other European Union countries where they first arrived under the Dublin Agreement, but was only successful in just over six per cent of the cases. Germany attempted to return 68,709 migrants last year to other member states under the Dublin agreement which allows countries to return migrants to the first state they filed an asylum application. The number of readmission applications is 62.5 per cent higher than 2021 and a record since 2014 but the number of migrants accepted back to other states party to the agreement was just 4,158, a mere 6.05 per cent of the total, the lowest number since 2014, German tabloid Bild reports . Since 2014, Germany has requested to send back a total of 444,849 migrants to other countries, which includes all European Union countries along with Norway, Switzerland, Lichenstein and Iceland but only 46,838 people have actually been sent back. EU Official Threatens to Ban TikTok if it Fails to Censor Content

January 22, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Tiktok runs the risk of being banned within the EU should it fail to censor content, an official from within the bloc has warned. Thierry Breton, the EU’s censorship-loving Internal Market Commissioner, has threatened to see Chinese social media platform TikTok banned from the bloc should it fail to censor content he and his colleagues view as being problematic. It comes after Breton repeatedly threatened Twitter with a similar fate should the platform’s new CEO, Elon Musk, fail to abide by the EU’s standards for censorship. According to a report by Reuters, Breton made the threat during a video call with TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew, warning that the Chinese social media platform must abide by all rules outlined within the EU’s new Digital Services Act (DSA) or face the consequences. “We will not hesitate to adopt the full scope of sanctions to protect our citizens if audits do not show full compliance,” Breton reportedly warned. With younger audiences comes greater … [Read more...] about EU Official Threatens to Ban TikTok if it Fails to Censor Content

Britons to be Paid to Not Use Electricity Between 5pm and 6pm on Monday

January 23, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

More than a million UK households will be offered money for them to cut their electricity use between 5pm and 6pm on Monday in a move that follows the National Grid bringing back mothballed coal plants today to ensure supply. Some people across Britain are to be offered up to £20 (~$24.76) to dramatically reduce their electricity usage between 5pm and 6pm on Monday evening in an attempt to curb the country’s electricity use in the face of potential shortages. It will be the first time such payments will be issued under the National Grid’s Demand Flexibility Service, which was introduced late last year in the hopes of preventing power blackouts . Now, according to an online statement by the energy board, the emergency system is planned to be engaged for the first time this evening, with freezing cold temperatures reportedly causing problems for energy availability in Britain. So far, three coal-fired power plants in the country have been ordered to make themselves ready … [Read more...] about Britons to be Paid to Not Use Electricity Between 5pm and 6pm on Monday

Sunni Muslims Call for Boycott of Swedish Goods After Qur’an burning

January 26, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Leaders in the Sunni branch of Islam have called for boycotts of Swedish goods following the burning of a copy of the Islamic Qur’an last weekend, and are considering a similar boycott for the Netherlands. The al-Azhar University in Cairo, one of the centres of Sunni Islamic thought, has called for a boycott of Swedish products this week just days after Danish anti-Islamisation activist Rasmus Paludan burned a copy of the Qur’an in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm. The university is also considering a boycott of products from the Netherlands following a similar Qur’an protest by Edwin Wagensveld, the leader of the Dutch branch of the anti-Islamisation activist group PEGIDA at the Hague, the newspaper Aftonbladet reports . Jan Hjärpe, professor of Islamology at Lund University, commented on the call to boycott Swedish goods saying, “This is a powerful marking that can have effects, al-Azhar University is the most famous of the Sunni universities and has a very … [Read more...] about Sunni Muslims Call for Boycott of Swedish Goods After Qur’an burning
