Adobe has launched a new video-editing app aimed at YouTube content creators. Called Premiere Rush CC, the app is available now on iOS and desktop with an Android release in the cards for sometime in 2019. As the name suggests, Adobe Premiere Rush CC is “designed specifically for online video creators,” and as such, it features an intuitive, user-friendly interface and flexible export options that will allow you to get optimized results for the most popular social platforms out there. Rush CC implements some of the more advanced features that make Adobe's professional video editing programs, such as Premiere and After Effects, stand out from the rest on PCs, but presents them in a more simplified form that's easier to deal with on the go. You can achieve some pretty sleek results with Premiere Rush CC and in a relatively short time. For example, if you don't feel like animating your own title card from scratch, there are some resources available that you can use to … [Read more...] about Adobe launches Premiere Rush CC for on-the-go video editing
Qualcomm’s most popular for its System-on-a-chip product lines, like the Snapdragon 845 that’s inside most flagships, but the company offers top solutions in other areas as well. Wireless connectivity is one where Qualcomm products are a preferred choice. The company makes chips both for 4G (now 5G as well) and Wi-Fi, and the latest category is where Qualcomm’s newest product is about to shine. Qualcomm has released a new family of Wi-Fi chips: QCA64x8 and QCA64x1, 64x8 chips will power infrastructure and fixed devices, while 64x1 chips are reserved for mobile applications. Both are capable of delivering data speeds of up to 10 Gbps, two times higher than the maximum speeds previous chips allowed. The new chips are part of a new Wi-Fi standard called 802.11ay and operate at a 60 GHz frequency. Sadly, the amazingly fast speeds come with a drawback, and a significant one at that. High frequency waves can transfer a lot of data, but are very bad at going … [Read more...] about Qualcomm’s next generation Wi-Fi chips promise blazing speeds, unless you’re hiding behind a corner
Almost all dating apps provide you with all the resources you need to find a match — a profile, a pool of potential dates in the area, and a space to chat. But apps have yet to implement a feature that checks in with users to see how their first dates went, and Hinge is attempting to change that. With its new “We Met” feature, Hinge wants to learn about the dates its members go on with matches made through its app. That way, it can inject the information into its algorithm to provide future recommendations that better suit what you’re looking for in a significant other. But how does it work? Since Hinge is programmed to recognize a ten digit code, the app will automatically know when you and your match exchange phone numbers. A few days later, both parties are then individually asked if they went on a date, and if they would like to see that person again. If either person indicates they’re not interested in a second date, the app applies that … [Read more...] about With Hinge’s new feature, you can be honest about how that first date went

Poor Pepper the robot -- it's hard to be taken seriously when you're made of plastic and adorable as heck.Pepper testified in front of British politicians on Tuesday morning, giving thoughtful and measured responses to the questions from Parliament's Education Committee about the fourth industrial revolution, in which the lines between biology, machinery and digital entities get all blurry. And how did they respond to the affable droid? They laughed in its face.In all fairness to the members of Parliament, who were seated in a horseshoe around the robot, there was something quite absurd about the situation. Pepper, developed by Softbank in Tokyo, is one of the most widely recognized robots the world over, but the millennium-old Palace of Westminster is not exactly its natural environment."This is not the House of Commons Education Committee auditioning for the sequel to The Matrix," said Committee Chair and Conservative MP Robert Halfon, introducing Pepper. "Pepper's appearance today … [Read more...] about Pepper the robot tells politicians why robots’ time is upon us
