Realme is set to expand its flagship tier with a new smartphone that will come powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The Chinese phone maker has confirmed the launch date of the Realme GT2 Master Explorer edition for its domestic market. According to a report by GSMArena, Realme has shared a poster on Weibo to announce that the upcoming device will be launched on July 12. The phone is likely to arrive in three different colour options — White, Brown and Green.
The report also suggests that the earlier Master edition handsets were tweaked versions of the X-series phones, however, things have changed now. Realme's newly separated Master series is very different from the previous one and the upcoming smartphone will be a part of this lineup. For better understanding, this time Realme GT2 Master Explorer edition will have a more powerful chipset than the Realme GT2 Pro while last year this lineup included two mid-rangers.
Realme GT2 Master Explorer edition expected specifications ( China variant)
Earlier reports suggested that the upcoming smartphone has received its TENAA certification which revealed some of the key details about the Realme GT2 Master Explorer edition. The device is expected to sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support.
The GT2 Master Explorer edition will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor backed with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. However, the smartphone may offer three different RAM and storage options — 6GB / 8GB / 12GB RAM options and 128GB / 256GB / 512GB of storage variants.
The upcoming handset is expected to house a triple rear camera setup which will include — a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro shooter. The GT2 Master Explorer edition is expected to offer a 16MP front snapper for selfies and video calls. Moreover, the device may also feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner and is expected to run on Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12 OS.
