Next launches 50% off sale as it plans to reopen 25 stores on June 15

May 29, 2020 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

NEXT has launched a huge sale to get rid of some excess stock before stores begin to reopen in just over two weeks’ time.

The retailer has slashed the prices of hundreds of items across its adult fashion lines – with most items 50 per cent off or more.

As well as its men’s and women’s clothing, Next has also slashed the prices on a lot of its branded fashion, which includes items from River Island, Lipsy, Wallis and Warehouse.

Delivery from Next costs £3.99 – you can’t currently pick anything up in store as they remain closed for now.

The sale comes as the store confirmed it will be reopening 25 shops from June 15, in line with the changed government guidance.

As shops try to clear excess stock, they are slashing prices – so if you were looking to pick up some new clothes, you could end up grabbing a bargain.

While the sale is currently just online, it’s expected big sales will be seen in stores when they open again too.

Of course, just because something is in the sale doesn’t mean it is necessarily a good deal – so always compare prices elsewhere first.

If you’re wondering how to compare prices, PriceSpy logs the history of how much something costs.

It uses data from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets.

Here are some of the best picks.

Blue puff sleeve denim dress. WAS £35. NOW £17.50. Save £17.50 (50 per cent)

There are a range of summer dresses in the Next sale, including this blue number, which is 100 per cent cotton.

At the moment, it is still available in most sizes up to size 20, as well as in some longer lengths.

It’s one of the cheapest dresses we found in this design. Very has some similar options which start at £28, while New Look’s start at £20.

Black cigarette trousers. WAS £38. NOW £19. Save £19 (50 per cent)

These smart trousers would look good on almost anyone and are a good staple item for your wardrobe.

And fortunately, they are still in stock in a range of sizes – right up to 20 in an XXL length.

We found some similar trousers at H&M for £9 in its sale, but the sizes available are very limited.

Lipsy printed wrap midi dress. WAS £62. NOW £31. Save £31 (50 per cent off)

Lipsy London is just one of the designer brands Next sells.

This floral dress is perfect for summer, and could be used for occasions such as weddings when they start again.

Available sizes range from 4 to 18.

This is the cheapest version of the dress we could find. But Wallis has some similar styles for £25.

River Island black leather jacket. WAS £120. NOW £60. Save £60 (50 per cent off)

A leather jacket is a great item to have in your wardrobe and perfect for any season.

This one is 100 per cent leather and a steal at £60. It’s still available in most sizes and is from River Island’s line at Next.

For genuine leather jackets, this is one of the cheapest we could find on the high street. Prices at Mango and M&S start at £100.

Grey regular fit linen blend shirt. WAS £26. NOW £13. Save £13 (50 per cent off)

This light grey shirt is perfect for hot sunny days – but it also has long sleeves so would work in the cooler months too.

It’s half price and currently available in all sizes, from extra small to XXXX large.

Most of the high street shops have sales at the moment, and there’s similar shirts available. We found one for £13 at Debenhams.

Moss tailored fit light grey jacket. WAS £119. NOW £35. Save £85 (70 per cent)

There’s a massive 70 per cent off this suit jacket, which is by the designer Moss.

Although most people aren’t wearing suits right now, this is available for a great price and could be good for any event in the future, such as weddings.

And there’s still quite a few sizes left, from 36 to 44.

We found a similar jacket (but not a Moss one) from Suits Direct for the same price.

Grey suede biker jacket. WAS £150. NOW £75. Save £75 (50 per cent)

If you’re in the market for a new jacket, this casual suede coat is a good fit all-year round.

Most sizes are still available to buy from Next and it’s half the price it originally was.

We found a similar jacket at M&S for £69 but it’s not real suede.

Navy slim fit trousers. WAS £32. NOW £16. Save £16 (50 per cent)

The majority of the men’s sale at Next is suit wear – probably because hardly any of us are in the office right now.

But if you want to stock up for when you do go back, and when other events begin, there are bargains to be had such as these slim fit trousers available in all sizes.

We did see some similar trousers at River Island for £10, but in limited sizes.

Navy cord long sleeve shirt. WAS £28. Now £8. Save £20 (71 per cent)

While the sale is 50 per cent off, there are some items available at bigger discounts, including this cord shirt.

It’s a great bargain if you are looking for a new shirt, but it’s only available in small and medium sizes when we checked.

Although not a high-street shop, we did spot a cord shirt at Aldi for £5 and one at New Look for £15.
